Politics are local and every election matters! When we elect leaders who dream big and lead with empathy to Orleans DPEC:

Better candidates get recruited, progressive candidates get elected, and we get accountability in our elected officials so we can thrive in our communities.

Vote for me:

  • If you’re ready for a change.

  • If you think the city should prioritize affordable housing.

  • If you think the minimum wage should be a living wage (at least $16/hr).

  • If you think access to healthcare shouldn’t be tied to employment.

  • If you think we need increased bike lanes.

  • If you think we need affordable and accessible fresh produce for everyone.

  • If you think clean air and water are important.

  • If you think abortion is healthcare and shouldn’t be criminalized.

  • If you think no election should go uncontested.

  • If you think city budgets are moral documents and want to see our priorities shift to caring for people.

  • Most importantly, if you love the people of New Orleans.

Why I’m Running!

I believe the Democratic Party has an image problem and a strong progressive executive committee is needed to turn things around.

We have to do better than November’s 15.6% voter turnout!

I believe our Orleans Parish DPEC can and should:

  • develop and support strong candidates for every election;

  • increase voter engagement;

  • continuously conduct voter registration drives;

  • advocate for progressive local and state policies that benefit everyone.

Volunteer with me or watch my campaign. We’re going to do the work!

What is DPEC?

The Democratic Parish Executive Committee, DPEC for short, is the Democratic Party committee at the parish level. The purpose of DPEC is:

  • conducting party affairs at the local level;

  • endorsing and helping local candidates get elected;

  • community building and organizing;

  • promoting Democratic Party activities.

Each parish has its own Democratic Executive Committee and its DPEC members are elected once every four (4) years.

The Orleans Parish DPEC members are elected based upon their city council district. Each city council district elects fourteen (14) candidates to the committee.

About Me

I’m a dog mom, a gardener, part-time runner, bicyclist, and a progressive. I love New Orleans and I want everyone who lives here to thrive.

I fundamentally believe that, if we addressed the issues experienced by historically disadvantaged and marginalized groups, we could build a better life for everyone… a rising tides lifts all boats.

So what does this look like?

  • addressing the needs of households without cars ->reliable RTA bus service, expanded bike lanes, and better sidewalks;

  • address food insecurity to create equitable community food systems -> access to fresh produce in all neighborhoods, decreased food swamps and deserts, turning blighted lots into edible gardens, and healthier communities;

  • protecting reproductive rights -> increased access to health care, protecting access to abortion, improved quality of care, expanded paid parental leave, reduced maternal mortality rates, healthcare coverage for doulas, and increased funding for social programs for parents;

  • addressing affordable housing -> building strong communities of long term residents, decreasing homelessness, reducing crime, lower property taxes for households, reducing rent, and rent control;

  • addressing climate change -> 1:1 net metering for solar panels (lower electric bills), creative recycling (i.e. oyster shells) and glass to help restore coastlines, lower greenhouse emissions from vehicles, reduced impact of storm surges, and possibly the elimination of ITEP (property tax breaks) for industries with high carbon emissions which could lead to the reduction of residential property taxes;

  • addressing environmental justice issues -> cleaner air in the river parishes (Cancer Alley) and elimination of toxic fumes Uptown, better health outcomes for all residents, and fully paid relocation for residents of Gordon Plaza;

  • addressing wage disparities -> increasing the minimum wage to a living wage, reduction of both the gender and race wage gaps, mandatory salary on job listings (NY and Colorado do it, why not us?), stronger unions and union protections, and transparent salary reporting requirements;

I can keep going…

Living My Values

As a volunteer clinic escort with the New Orleans Abortion Fund, I was on the front lines ensuring patients remained safe and shielded from harassment as they sought medical care. I also volunteered  with ‘Louisiana for Personal Freedoms’ in the Campaign to defeat Amendment 1 abortion ban on the November 2020 ballot.

I believe in the importance of local libraries as not only a source for literature but also as a community space. I joined a coalition of community members for the Save Our NOLA Public Libraries Campaign to ensure the libraries were properly funded.

I believe that your zip code should not determine the quality of food you have access to. I recently became a board member of Sprout Nola and I am committed to using this position to advocate and support candidates who share my vision of an equitable community food system.

As a bicyclist and a runner.  I understand that the city often treats residents without cars as an afterthought. I will advocate for increased protected bike lanes, even sidewalks, and improving RTA’s reliability.

Our campaign is so grassroots, even the signs are green. Help me get the message out and make the party work for us and progressive values.
